What services does SEEK Therapeutic Counselling provide in Halifax?
I offer therapy for stress, anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, identity and meaning work, and life transitions. My approach is rooted in Internal Family Systems, psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, and feminist perspectives. Sessions are available online for clients across Nova Scotia, including Halifax.
Can I get counselling for stress management in Halifax or Nova Scotia?
Yes. I work with clients throughout Halifax and Nova Scotia who are navigating stress, burnout, and life’s pressures. Together, we explore coping tools, self-awareness, and deeper patterns that contribute to stress.

Does SEEK Therapeutic Counselling offer virtual therapy in Nova Scotia?
Yes. All sessions are available virtually, making counselling accessible to anyone living in Nova Scotia. Online therapy is just as effective as in-person sessions and can be a more flexible option.

How do I book a session with a mental health professional in Halifax?

How much does a counselling session cost?
Sessions are $150 per session. Payment is due at the time of the session, and receipts are provided for insurance reimbursement or personal records.

Is counselling covered by insurance in Nova Scotia?
Many extended health insurance plans cover counselling services with a Registered Counselling Therapist (RCT, RCT-C). It’s best to check with your provider to confirm your coverage.

How long is a counselling session?
Sessions are typically 60 minutes. Longer sessions may be available upon request.

Do you provide in-person counselling?
At this time, I primarily provide virtual sessions. Depending on availability, in-person options in Halifax may occasionally be possible.

What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations require 24 hours’ notice. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be charged the full session fee.

What issues do you specialize in?
I support clients with anxiety, stress, grief and loss, identity exploration, relationships, life transitions, and existential questions. I also work with people who are curious about personal growth and self-discovery.

Can therapy help with grief and loss?
Yes. Grief is a natural but difficult part of life, and therapy provides a safe space to process emotions, find meaning, and explore healing at your own pace.

Do you work with teens or children?
I work with adults and some teens. I do not currently provide counselling for young children, but I can suggest resources or referrals if needed.

Do you work with clients dealing with addiction?
I do not work with clients in active addiction. However, I can support individuals in recovery or provide referrals to specialized services.

How private are sessions?
Confidentiality is a core part of counselling. What you share remains private, with the exception of rare situations where safety is a concern (such as risk of harm).

Yes, if in-person times are available, you’re welcome to move between online and in-person sessions depending on your needs.

How quickly can I start therapy?
You can usually book a first session within a week, depending on availability. New clients are always welcome.

What if I’m not sure therapy is right for me?
It’s normal to feel uncertain. I encourage clients to book an initial session — think of it as a conversation where we explore your needs and see if we’re a good fit.
