What It’s Like to Work Together
You don’t need to arrive with a plan, a breakthrough, or the right words.
You just need to arrive.
This is a space where we slow things down enough to actually notice what’s happening inside you. We pay attention to the patterns, the pauses, the things you’ve learned to carry, and the parts of you that are ready to speak.
I work at a human pace.
There’s room here for honesty, reflection, and yes, the kind of humour that sneaks in when something real lands. We don’t rush toward fixing. We stay with understanding, and let change grow from there.

Meet Christena
Counselling isn’t about fixing you.
It’s about listening deeply, exploring what lives beneath the surface, and helping you reconnect with the parts of yourself that already know the way forward.
My name is Christena Copeland, and I’m the founder of SEEK Therapeutic Counselling. I’m glad you’re here.
Where This Work Began
When I say I’m a counsellor who has done the work, I mean it literally. I spent more than a decade in my own therapeutic process, working closely with a Jungian analyst and counselling therapist. That journey helped me move through anxiety and depression, face old patterns, and change the direction of my life.
It reshaped how I relate to myself.
It reshaped how I relate to others.
And it informs the way I work with the people who sit across from me now.
How I Work
My approach is grounded in psychodynamic and intuitive counselling. We don’t just talk about what you’re feeling. We look at where those feelings come from and how they’ve shaped the way you move through the world.
You’ll see influences from Carl Jung’s depth psychology and Carl Rogers’ person-centered therapy, particularly the belief that real change happens in a relationship built on presence, honesty, and care. I also draw from solution-focused and cognitive behavioural approaches when they’re useful, not as a script, but as tools we can reach for together.
And yes, I take inspiration from outside the clinical world too. Music, philosophy, and writers like Clarissa Pinkola Estés all shape how I think about growth, meaning, and becoming more fully yourself.

Credentials
I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor, a designation that happens to share my initials. Christena Catherine Copeland. Jung might call that synchronistic. Others might call it coincidence. Either way, it makes me smile. My academic background includes a Master of Education in Therapeutic Counselling from Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. That experience continues to shape how I show up in my work and in the room with my clients.
What I Want for You
Most people are not looking to be fixed. They want to be understood. They want their experiences to matter. They want space to be honest without being judged.
In my work, compassion, curiosity, and connection come first. Healing is not always clean or comfortable. Sometimes it’s confronting. Sometimes it asks more of you than you expected. That is part of the process.
No forced positivity. No pressure to perform wellness.
Just real conversation, moving at a real pace.
A Personal Note
This space is always about you, but I’ll share this much about me.
I value a simple, meaningful life. I care deeply for my family, my friends, and my pets. I’ve taken non-traditional paths, and they’ve taught me to trust honesty, humour, and the insights that shows up when you stop pretending you have it all figured out.
And quite frankly, I think we all can be messy. That's okay. It's part of the human experience.
